This saying has been around for decades, as far as I know. And it's point is to get us to believe that moderation is necessary to live a happy, healthy life.
Oddly enough, however good natured the saying is, most people take the word "moderation" and only apply it to health...
They exercise moderately...
They diet moderately...
And they sleep moderately.
Everything else, they do to the extreme...
They eat processed food to the extreme...
They binge watch Netflix and scroll their phone to the extreme...
And they live an inactive lifestyle to the extreme.
And then, when someone says that they need to eliminate all that junk food, exercise 5 days a week, and only eat whole foods, the person replies "all things in moderation"...and they wonder why they're fat and overweight.
ACTION:
Instead of living a moderately healthy lifestyle, focus on living the extreme healthy lifestyle. People will judge you, for sure. Just remember, results are what matter.
