In yesterday's Daily 1%, I told you of the conversation I had with my friend from the gym...

He was having trouble sticking with his own decisions because his parents disagreed and, as all good sons or daughters do, he wants to make them happy.

My belief is that you should never give into outside pressures that want you to make a different choice (given that you've thought it through thoroughly and gathered enough info to make an informed decision), and there are 2 reasons for this...

First, once that person knows that they can force you to change your mind through some form of manipulation, they will inevitably do it again...

Second, once you've given into their demands, you will inevitably hold resentment against that person for as long as you continue with THEIR choice, and you will never be happy with the path that someone else has chosen for you.

ACTION:

There's an old saying..."A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still".

Respect the opinions of others, be keep them at arms length (considering their expertise in the matter).

And know that, while you hope that they will come around to your side eventually, they will likely never understand your position...especially if you keep giving into theirs.
