Having owned and operated a fitness studio for 10 years, I saw a lot of tendencies that kept people from making progress...
One of those tendencies was slowing down at the end of a set or end of a workout.
For instance, one of our classes was a kettlebell HIIT class that was based on a timer...in other words, you did an exercise for a certain amount of time instead of a certain amount of reps.
Without fail, 80% of the class would slow down or stop before the timer ran out for most exercises.
The 20% that kept going through the bell and finished strong at the end were the ones getting the results...it was almost a perfect correlation.
The same thing happens in life as well...
We set a goal, make progress, get to the end, and then, when we see the finish line, we slow down or, worse, stop.
And then we wonder why we don't get the results we want.
ACTION:
Remember that the end of your current goal is the beginning of your next goal. And, if you lose momentum today, you'll have a hard time gaining it back tomorrow.
So, as we would say during our breakdowns at the gym, when you feel yourself pulling back your effort, remind yourself to FINISH STRONG!
