After a few long days of working out in the sun, my body wasn't feeling it today. It felt slow and sluggish. Every rep was a grind. And, most of the time, I had to convinced myself to do the next set.
A lot of "influencers" give off the impression that training hard should be a given...that, if you can't train hard and beat records, you might as well not be training at all. Well, that's complete bullsh*t.
Having been in the weight room for 25+ years I can tell you that not every day is easy. You won't hit PRs during every workout. And there will be many times when you don't even feel like being there.
But it's also during those times...when your energy is low, when your motivation is zero, or when you just can't keep your focus...that your identity shifts...that you become the type of person that does what you say you're going to do regardless of your energy, motivation, or focus.
ACTION:
On those days when you can't train your hardest, find something else to improve on. Instead of lifting more weight, focus on doing more reps. Instead of doing more reps, focus on perfecting your form. There's always something you can improve. Focus on that.
