This morning I was in a pessimistic mood...
My mind was pointing out everything that was going wrong at work and coming up with every reason to try something different.
Luckily, if there's one thing I'm good at (sometimes to my own detriment), it's pushing forward in the face of apparent lack of progress.
Now, of course, the lack of progress I was focusing on was fake...or, at least not the complete picture.
The problem was I was focusing myopically on one or two metrics that weren't growing and ignoring the 10 other metrics that had expanded exponentially.
In other words, instead of focusing on the whole forrest that was expanding, I was focused on the one or two trees that were staying still.
Now, that's not to say I will ignore those trees and let them continue to lag behind...to be sure, I'll figure out a way to get the proper sunlight on them...
But once you've got momentum moving in your direction, it's actually easier to just keep going than it is stop all together...you just have to make sure to pay attention to the full picture when you're assessing your progress.
ACTION:
When you're evaluating your progress, expand your view so you can see the whole picture. Then zoom back in figure out how you can get the smaller trees to catch up with the expanding forrest.
Until next time, here's to your 1% growth everyday...

P.S. It also helped that, just after my pessimistic hissy-fit, I signed up a new client for the ALPHA LIFE Revolution...keep going, the universe will come around eventually.
