I'm finishing up a book called Looking Out for #1 by Robert Ringer. It's been a great read (so much so that I've ordered the remainder of his books...almost 10 in total).
Throughout the book Robert makes reference to Murphy's Law...
In case you haven't heard of good ol' Murphy before, here are the basic tenants of the law:
Nothing is easy...
Things will take longer than you expect...
What can go wrong will go wrong, and usually at the worst possible time.
Ironically, most people understand the law so well that they avoid any adventure that offers even a small amount of risk...
And then, when they do step out of their comfort zone and try something new, they're surprised when Murphy's ghost shows up and spoils the fun.
And herein lies the difference between "successful" people and "unsuccessful" people...
Unsuccessful people complain that Mr. Murphy isn't fair and that he should quite making things so hard..which, of course, never works out.
Successful people accept the tenants of the law and get to work anyway.
ACTION:
Murphy's ghost is bound to show up at any given time. Don't be surprised when he does. Actually, welcome him with open arms...he's usually there to teach you a good lesson.
Until next time, keep your eyes out for any lurking ghosts...
