One thing humans are terrible at is thinking about what happens NEXT...
For example, if you choose to skip a workout because you had a long day at the office, what happens NEXT?
Well, you'll beat yourself up for being lazy because you told yourself that you wouldn't skip any training sessions...
And, inevitably, you'll start to skip more workouts because, hey, you've already skipped one...
Then you'll eventually end up quitting because you'll convince yourself that you're too busy to workout right now anyway...
When, in reality, if you would've taken some time to think through the second and third order consequences (what happens NEXT) of skipping that first workout, you could've had the outcome you wanted if you just kept showing up.
ACTION:
It's tempting to give into the emotions and feelings of the moment. The next time you feel yourself wanting to do that, ask yourself "What happens NEXT?" so you can make a more rational decision.
