One of the hardest connections (or, rather, disconnections) for people to make is that you are not your thoughts.
In other words, the way you think is not "who I am"...it's actually just "who I am right now".
I'm sure you have times when you feel like anything is possible and you can conquer the world (or at least conquer the goals you've set for yourself).
Then you have other times (which probably make up most of your thoughts) when you tell yourself to be "realistic"...that there's no way you can actually make your goals happen for whatever reason.
The question is, which one of your thoughts is right? The thought that you can conquer anything...or the thought that you need to be realistic?
The answer is, whichever one you tell yourself is true.
If you can understand this idea...and disconnect your thoughts from yourself...you increase your chances of success by 100x.
ACTION:
The next time you find yourself questioning your capabilities to succeed, ask yourself "Is this true?".
