I was talking with my dad this morning and he got to talking about his transition from owning multiple restaurants in his late twenties and early thirties, to closing them down and being broke, to getting a job driving a truck, to eventually becoming the owner of the company he was driving trucks for.
He mentioned how there was a time when he only had $300 in his pocket after closing down the restaurants. He said...
"I never gave it a second thought, I just went and found the next thing I needed to do to get back in the game."
I asked him how he ended up owning the company after driving trucks for them for only a few months...
"The guy who was running the company randomly passed away and they put me in his position. Eventually, the owners came to me and asked me to buy the business."
I asked him why he didn't feel the urge to give up after closing the restaurants...
"I just never thought about it...I just got back in the game. The sooner you get back in the game, the sooner you start moving forward again. And, if you just stay in the game, you'll eventually make it."
ACTION:
The next time you feel the urge to quit because things aren't going your way or because sh*t's getting hard, remind yourself...if you stay in the game long enough, you'll eventually make it.
